I finally bought a new pair of skates after 19 years. As a coach I needed comfort and fit. My skates are a great fit and the blade mounting is right on.I bought the Reidell coach model again. To say I was apprehensive is an understatement but Leith was very patient and could have awarded me the most punch out the skate award.And now they feel great!!Thanks Leith and Michelle for the great service. I have been a happy customer for roughly 6 years now, I love your skate sharpening, the great service, and your items. I really do not know if I would be able to go without you guys, I went to another skate sharpener about 4 years ago before a hockey practice without it being sharpened before and I had to go off, I almost thought that somebody took a hammer to my skates I will definately continue to be a happy customer.

We went to On the Edge for the first time today, and wow….. the service was great. We were there for a pair of figure skating skates and we learned so much from you both. We will definately be back in the future. Beats going to a store and spending 5 mins there, it was 1 hr that was very well spent.

We went to On the Edge last night and had a great time. What a great man!!!!! Kaelyn loved it. Got her a new pair of Riedell skates size 5 extra wide and skateguards. You were right that we would be there for over 1 hour. WOW and it was great. Will definetely go back for Emma in the fall.
Being out of the game for so long I was in need of a reboot. Leith and Michelle were definitely the jump start I was looking for. Their customer service was fast, efficient and professional. I bought all new gear for my son and I, who is just starting his hockey career. They put us in the right equipment for our body types, then explained exactly why we needed it this way for the best performance. Leith put my son in the softech tri-grip for a comfortable and affordable fit. Leith knew it would give Owen (5 years old) the support he needed to keep his ankles straight. Hands down the most knowledgeable and caring shop I have been to. They have my business for life.
Thanks for the great feedback, it’s so important to have coaches see the value in a properly fitted skate. We have put several coaches from Prince Edward Island into this Riedell boot and it’s great to see we can pass along the benefits to coaches in Ontario.

Thank you so much for my new Riedell Coaches Boot. I spend hours and hours on the ice and my feet have never been so comfortable. And with the thinsulate liner my feet are always toasty warm. I only wish I would have bought them sooner!

I didn’t know how important skate sharpening was until Brent and I were at a tournament in Montreal three years ago. We got Brent’s skates sharpened at a Pro shop in Montreal; the skate Pro took the time to explain to us what was wrong with the skates. The contour on one skate was different from the other. He contoured them properly and Brent could really see the difference. When we got back home I tried different skate shops and couldn’t find one I liked until Leith started his shop (ON THE EDGE) on PEI. Now when ever Brent gets a new pair of skates, Leith contours them and consistently sharpens them to the radius of hollow that suits Brent’s weight, skate size, and ice condition. There are times I have to get them sharpened elsewhere and Brent can tell the difference as soon as he starts to skate and sometimes gets me to take the skates to Leith before the next ice time. Thanks and keep up the great sharpening.

On the Edge skate sharpening has been doing all our family skate sharpening for the last three years. I coach hockey and power skating, have a daughter who figure skates at the senior level, another daughter that plays pee-wee hockey and my wife just skates for recreation so we have very diverse needs when it comes to having our skates done. Leiths knowledge and skill means we can have all our needs met at one shop, whether it means sharpening and contouring blades, remounting or straightening blades,or moulding skate boots for a better fit. Leith has also been able to provide advice and assistance for skaters in our power skating program who may be struggling on the ice due to bent or improperly mounted blades.
We have first hand knowledge of this as one of our daughters was really having a struggle with crosscuts in a new pair of skates only to find one blade was mounted incorrectly (these were not inexpensive skates). Leith remounted the blade and problem solved. We can recommend On the Edge for all your skate sharpening contouring and maintenance needs.

They were spot-on and he was able to go on and skate in the Hockey Showcase without worrying about whether to trust his edges or the effects of any uneven radius/ profile on his skating.
